State of the Season

All CVI games and practices remain canceled, in accordance with the latest decision to continue the Shelter-in-Place Order.  This is to keep our players and their family & friends well and to limit the spread of coronavirus through close social gatherings.  We will continue to update our website - cvisportsleague.org - as well as our Facebook and Instagram - cvisportsleague4kids - if things change.

Your CVI Board has formed a committee focused on working to discuss with other community sports leagues to make decisions about our League’s next steps.  At this point, our Spring 2020 Baseball Season has not yet been cancelled, and we will continue to communicate with our families once any definitive information is available. This pandemic has been stressful for all of us in some way, shape, or form, and we understand that financial hardships are at the top of that list.  Unfortunately, as a nonprofit, independent sports organization run solely by volunteers, we are in the midst of making some very difficult decisions in order to keep the league afloat.  Scarily, the league's livelihood is in the balance. Thanks for your continued support and understanding as we work through this unprecedented time.

Season Postponed through (at least) 4/19

Dear CVI Families,

Things have been changing daily as information about the spread and impact of novel coronavirus is assessed.

Effective immediately, all CVI games and practices have been canceled, in accordance with CVUSD's latest decisions. This is to keep our players, their family and friends well and to limit the spread of coronavirus through close social gatherings. At this time, play is expected to resume on April 19th, at the end of Spring Break.

This short term hiatus also affects our upcoming Community Day and pictures that were originally scheduled for March 22. Those events have been canceled. We are working to reschedule for April 25th.

Please use caution and wise judgement when going about your daily business. If you feel sick, stay home. Wash your hands with soap often. Cover your mouth with your sleeve when you cough or sneeze. You can find more information from the CDC and their guidelines here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this confusing time.

- Your CVI Board

Precautions

As a league, we acknowledge and are sensitive to the concerns related to COVID-19 and are encouraging players to exhibit good sportsmanship with elbow-bumps or air high-fives in lieu of hand-slaps, high-fives or handshakes. We will continue to closely monitor Alameda County Health Care Services Agency Public Health Department information and recommendations. #cvisportsleague4kids #elbowbumps #nohandtohand
